Queremos explicar el horario de hoy para evitar confusión:
Todos los estudiantes, incluso los que se preparan para la Confirmación, van a ir a sus clases de catecismo esta tarde.
La reunión de las 6:00 pm en el salón de la iglesia es solo para los padres y guardianes de los estudiantes de Confirmación de 2º año. Por favor, no traigan a su estudiante de Confirmación. Ellos solo necesitan ir a su clase de catecismo.

Announcements for Each Group
• 2nd Year Confirmation Parents
There will be a mandatory parent meeting tomorrow, December 2nd, in the church hall from 6:00–7:00 PM. Seating is limited, so please avoid bringing children if possible.
Note: Confirmation students will still have class at this time and do NOT need to attend the meeting.
Two sign-up tables will be available to select your ceremony time: 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Each ceremony has 47 available seats, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
• 1st Year Independent Studies – Confirmation Students
Please be advised that your class time for tomorrow (December 2nd) has been changed.
Class will now begin at 5:00 PM in the church hall.
If you would like to arrive early, Mr. Mike will be in the hall starting at 4:00 PM so students may check in, turn in homework, and have additional time to complete the test.
• 2nd Year OCIA – (Children who are receiving the three sacraments) English Students (Mr. Rusconi’s Class)
There will be a very important meeting tomorrow (December 2nd) at 3:45 PM in Room #5.
If you cannot attend, please send someone in your place to pick up the sponsor forms and the calendar of events for the Rite of Election services.

• ¡El tercer lugar todavía está disponible! Veamos quién será la próxima clase ganadora.
• 🙏Por favor recuerden a sus estudiantes que pasen por la oficina de catecismo para recoger una tarjeta extra de misa si aún no la tienen.
• No habrá clases de catecismo desde el martes 25 de noviembre hasta el 28 de noviembre por las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias. Las clases regresarán el martes 2 de diciembre.

Good afternoon, parents and Catechists,
Just a few announcements:
• 🎉Congratulations to Gerry Ramirez’s 2nd Year – 2nd Grade class! They have won second place for learning all their prayers. Wonderful job to Gerry and her class!
• Third place is still open! Let’s see who our next class of winners will be.
• 🙏Please remind your students to stop by the catechism office to pick up an extra Mass card if they have not received one yet.
• There will be no catechism classes from Tuesday, November 25th through November 28th for the Thanksgiving break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, December 2nd.
Wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving!
• There will be a parent meeting for all 2nd Year Confirmation students on Tuesday, December 2nd from 6:00–7:00 PM in the church hall. Topics will include:
🎈Confirmation date: Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM
Parents will be able to choose a Mass time for their child (10:00 AM or 12:00 PM)
🙏Information regarding the retreat on January 24th & 25th
Retreat cost: $60 (includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Parents may submit payment for their child’s retreat as soon as possible.
We will also be requesting snack donations such as 8 oz. water bottles, chips, cookies, cupcakes, fruit gummies, or granola bars.

They are the first class to learn all of their prayers! As a reward, they’ll enjoy a pizza party and a build-your-own sundae celebration. Way to go, 5th graders!

The second class to complete all their prayers will get to choose between a pizza party or a build-your-own sundae party.

As we enter the holiday season, I’d like to share some important upcoming dates with you. Please take a moment to mark your calendars:
· Tuesday, November 11th: There will be no Catechism classes in observance of Veterans Day. We thank and honor all who have served our country.
· Week of November 24th–28th: There will be no Catechism classes in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
· Tuesday, December 2nd (6:00–7:00 p.m.) – 2nd Year - Confirmation Parent Meeting in the Church Hall.
This is an important meeting, and we ask that at least one parent or guardian attend. We will be discussing:
1. The Youth 2nd Year Confirmation Retreat (January 24th–25th, 2026) — cost, details, and snack donations.
2. Selecting a Confirmation Sponsor – requirements and guidelines.
3. Suggested Dress Code for the ceremony.
4. Confirmation Ceremony Time Selection – choosing between 10:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. services.

Good morning, Parents,
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in our annual Spaghetti and Chicken BBQ Luncheon. This wonderful event would not have been possible without your generosity, time, and support.
A special thank-you goes out to our Confirmation students and their parents who not only volunteered but also helped prepare, serve, and clean up after the luncheon. Your dedication and teamwork truly made the day run smoothly.
Thank you as well to our First Communion families who sold tickets, to our Confirmation families who purchased and sold tickets, and to our prayer groups who joined in to support and serve alongside us.
A very special note of appreciation goes to the Knights of Columbus for preparing the delicious BBQ chicken, and to Marvin Borzini and his crew for cooking the outstanding spaghetti. Everything was amazing!
We are truly a strong and vibrant Catholic parish because of the love, faith, and cooperation of our community. You are all a blessing, and your support made this event a great success.

Just a few important reminders as we prepare for our upcoming Spaghetti/Chicken Luncheon:
· Ticket Sales Are Now Closed: We are no longer accepting money for luncheon tickets.
· Please Return Unsold Tickets Today: If your child still has unsold tickets, kindly return them to the catechism building today so we can update our records and mark their name off the list.
We are now shifting our focus to volunteers to help make this event a success!
· Student Volunteer Opportunities: If your child was unable to sell their tickets, they still have the opportunity to earn their service hours by volunteering at the luncheon.
· Adult Volunteers Needed: We are especially in need of adults to help supervise our students during the event. If you are part of any parish prayer groups—or simply willing to lend a hand—we warmly invite you to get involved.

Aunque ya se ha hecho mucho, todavía necesitamos voluntarios para que ese día todo salga bien.
Si su hijo de Confirmación no pudo vender boletos, todavía puede ganar horas de servicio ayudando como voluntario. Vamos a trabajar en tres turnos y necesitamos tanto a adultos como a estudiantes para cada uno:
· Turno de las 7:00 AM: Preparar comida y organizar todo
· Turno de las 10:00 AM: Empacar comida y llevarla a los carros en el estacionamiento
· Turno de las 2:00 PM: Ayudar a limpiar
Para anotarse, por favor pase a la oficina de la iglesia o al edificio de Catecismo después de la 1:00 PM. Los lugares son limitados y necesitamos voluntarios responsables y que sí vayan a venir. Si su nombre está en la lista, contamos con usted.
Si usted es papá o mamá, tiene hijos en la secundaria que necesitan horas de servicio, o si su hijo tiene un amigo que también necesita horas, puede traerlo al edificio de Catecismo para anotarse.
Esta es una buena oportunidad para ayudar a la comunidad y cumplir con las horas de servicio.

Good morning Parents,
First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to all our Catechism children and Confirmation students for their outstanding efforts in preparing for our upcoming Annual Spaghetti/Chicken BBQ this Saturday, October 25th!
While much has already been done, we still need volunteers to help ensure the day runs smoothly and successfully.
If your Confirmation student was unable to sell tickets, there’s still an opportunity to earn service hours by volunteering. We will be organizing the day into three shifts and are seeking both adults and students for each:
· 7:00 AM Shift: Food prep and early setup
· 10:00 AMShift: Packing meals and delivering food to vehicles in the drive-thru
· 2:00 PM Shift: Clean-up crew
To sign up, please stop by the church office or Catechism building after 1:00 PM. Spots are limited, and we are looking for committed and dependable volunteers. If your name is on the list, we are counting on you to be there — your support is essential to making this event a success.
If you are a parent, have high school students who need community service hours, or know someone who does (such as a friend of your child), please bring them to the Catechism building to sign up. This is a great opportunity to serve the community and fulfill service hour requirements.
Let’s work together to make this year’s BBQ a wonderful and successful event!

Good morning, parents,
We have a few important announcements and words of appreciation to share with you:
• New Turn-In Date:
All money and any unsold tickets must be returned to the church office by Friday, October 17th. We kindly encourage everyone to do their best to sell all their tickets — every sale helps support our parish and strengthens our faith community in meaningful ways.
• Heartfelt Thanks:
A big thank-you to all the parents and students who have already turned in their ticket money! Your generosity, time, and dedication truly show your love for our parish and your commitment to helping it grow.
• Confirmation Students:
Those who have sold all their tickets will receive their 10 hours of community service credit forms at their next class meeting. We are proud of their wonderful example of service and teamwork!
• First Communion Students:
We will also be recognizing our First Communion students for their enthusiasm and effort in selling their tickets at their next class meeting. Their joyful hearts and willingness to help are truly a blessing to our parish family!
• Prayer Progress:
We are so happy to see many of our students learning and memorizing their prayers. Congratulations to those who have already mastered some of them! If you have not yet purchased a laminated prayer card (which includes all the prayers your child needs to know), they are available for $2.00 at the catechism building.

Announcements for Catechism Parents - for September 30, 2025
Dear Parents,
Your child will soon be bringing home three tickets to sell for our Annual Spaghetti/Chicken BBQ Luncheon — a special event that helps support our church maintenance fund, and through your generosity, may also provide a meal for the poor, the elderly, or someone who is unable to get out.
We encourage you to help your child sell these tickets to family, friends, and neighbors—or consider purchasing them for your own family to enjoy a meal together. When tickets are purchased, the proceeds not only support our parish but also help provide meals to those who may not be able to cook or get out on their own—such as the elderly, the poor, or those who are homebound in our community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about Christian stewardship. As the Bible says:
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace..." (1 Peter 4:10)
By selling these tickets, your child is showing love in action and helping to make a real difference.
✅ Please return all ticket money and any unsold tickets to the church office by Tuesday, October 21st.
Be sure to include your child’s first and last name and teacher’s name. This deadline helps us plan how much chicken we need to purchase.
📌 Please note: The ticket numbers are recorded under your child’s name, so as money is turned in, we’ll be able to recognize and celebrate your child’s achievement in selling all three tickets.
Special Note for Confirmation Students:
If you sell three tickets, you will be credited with 10 hours of community service.
If you would like to volunteer the day before, during, or after the event, please let Mr. Abe Hernandez know you are interested. These hours will also count toward your 20 hours of community service requirement.

Queridos Padres,
¡Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que nuestro Almuerzo Anual de Espagueti y Pollo, organizado por los Caballeros de Colón, ya viene pronto! Esta tradición especial es una manera muy bonita para que nuestra familia parroquial se una en fe, amistad y servicio.
Este año el almuerzo será un evento para recoger en carro — fácil, seguro y conveniente para todos. Para ayudar a que sea un éxito, pedimos que cada niño de Formación de Fe venda tres boletos para el almuerzo.
Pero no termina allí — ¡también necesitamos su ayuda! Desde preparar la comida hasta entregarla, los voluntarios son muy importantes. Nuestro Grupo de Jóvenes y ministerios de la parroquia estarán ayudando, y los estudiantes de Confirmación pueden ganar horas de servicio para la escuela y para su Confirmación.
Aquí hay maneras de apoyar:
· Anime a su hijo a vender sus tres boletos — o cómprelos usted mismo para una comida familiar.

Announcements for Catechism Parents - for September 12, 2025
Dear Parents,
We are thrilled to announce that our Annual Spaghetti/Chicken Lunch, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, is right around the corner! This cherished tradition is a wonderful way for our parish family to come together in faith, friendship, and service.
This year’s lunch will be held as a drive-through pickup event — simple, safe, and convenient for all to enjoy. To help make this special day a success, we are asking each Faith Formation child to sell three tickets for the lunch.
But it doesn’t stop there — we need your help too! From preparing meals to handing them out, volunteers are the heart of this event. Our Youth Group and parish ministries will be pitching in, and Confirmation students can earn valuable service hours toward both school and Confirmation requirements.
Here’s how you can support:
· Encourage your child to sell their three tickets — or purchase them yourself for a family night off from cooking!
· Consider buying tickets for a senior, neighbor, or someone who cannot get out.
· Share the gift of a meal by donating tickets to help feed those in need.
Your generosity and participation — whether by selling tickets, volunteering, or both — will ensure this dinner is not only a success, but also a true reflection of our parish’s love and care for one another.
We cannot wait to see the fruits of our parish family’s efforts come together on Saturday, October 25th.

Good afternoon, Parents of Mrs. Sonia Mungia’s and Mrs. Rosario Zamora’s 4th Grade Class (2nd Year First Communion),
I hope this message finds you well. I want to inform you about an important meeting taking place today regarding the continuation of our 2nd Year First Communion program for the 4th grade class.
We understand that some parents may have concerns about their child’s learning progress in this class. Please know that we take your concerns seriously. Today, I will be discussing the steps we are taking to support your child’s faith formation, especially as we face a shortage of catechist teachers.
It is very important that you attend your child’s class today. I will be sharing our updated plans to ensure your child is fully prepared to complete their 2nd year of preparation and receive the Sacrament of First Communion this coming April.

Horario de Clases – Las clases de primaria serán del 6 al 10 de octubre (no hay descanso esta semana).
Materiales para el Salón – Pidan lápices, crayones, marcadores, etc., en la oficina de catecismo (los materiales son limitados).
Asistencia a Misa – Los estudiantes de Confirmación de segundo año tienen poca asistencia (solo entregaron 42 tarjetas rojas de Misa). Por favor, recuérdeles la importancia de ir a Misa y traer sus tarjetas.
Nuevas Reglas para las Tarjetas de Misa – El Padre Patcho nos dijo que algunos niños no están asistiendo a Misa y solo dejan la tarjeta después. Desde ahora:

Good Morning, Catechists,
Here are a few important updates for this week:
New Website Launched – Visit www.catholickingcity.org and share it with parents for news, updates, and announcements.
Flocknote Notifications – These will now link directly to the new site for easy access.
Religious Education Calendar – Located on the front cover of your binder.
Class Schedule Reminder – Elementary classes will meet October 6–10 (no break this week).
Classroom Supplies – Request pencils, crayons, markers, etc., at the catechism office (supplies are limited).
Mass Attendance Concern – Second-year Confirmation students have low attendance (only 42 red Mass cards submitted). Please remind them of the importance of attending Mass and bringing their cards.
Mass Card Procedure Update – It has been brought to our attention by Father Patcho that some students are not attending Mass and only dropping off their cards afterward. Moving forward:
No catechism students should be standing in the front of the church, in the foyer, or under the gazebo during mass.
Late Mass cards will no longer be accepted.
Saint Packets – These will be distributed to second-year teachers; each child will research and select a saint name.

Política de Entrada y Salida de los Estudiantes
Para la seguridad de todos los estudiantes, pedimos que un padre o guardián firme cuando deja y recoge a su hijo de la clase de catecismo. Esto nos ayuda a saber quién está presente, que cada niño se vaya con un adulto autorizado y a mantener buenos registros de asistencia. Queremos un lugar seguro para que sus hijos crezcan en la fe.
Estudiantes de Primaria y Secundaria (Elementary y Middle School)
No recomendamos que los niños de primaria o secundaria firmen por sí mismos. Por favor, pida a un padre, guardián o hermano mayor/adulto responsable que los lleve a clase y los recoja.
Estudiantes de Preparatoria (High School)
Sabemos que los estudiantes de preparatoria son más independientes, pero esta regla es para todos los grupos de edad.
Si usted quiere que su hijo de preparatoria firme su entrada y salida, deberá firmar un permiso especial para permitirlo.
Este permiso solo sirve para firmar la entrada y la salida; no significa que el estudiante pueda salir antes o llegar tarde sin razón.

Good morning, parents,
Student Sign-In/Sign-Out Policy
For the safety of all our students, we require a parent or guardian to sign their child in and out of catechism class. This ensures that every child is accounted for, is picked up by an authorized adult, and helps us maintain accurate attendance records. It’s part of our commitment to providing a secure and caring environment for your children as they grow in their faith.
Elementary and Middle School Students
We do not encourage elementary or middle school students to sign themselves in or out. Please make arrangements for a parent, guardian, or responsible older sibling/adult to bring them to class and pick them up.
High School Students
We understand that high school students are more independent, but for safety and accountability, this policy applies to every age group. If you would like your high school student to sign themselves in and out, you must sign a permission slip granting them this privilege.
This permission only applies to sign-in and sign-out; it does not allow leaving class early or arriving late without cause.
If tardiness or early departures become an issue, this privilege may be suspended.
We also encourage parents to check in with the catechist during drop-off or pick-up times. This is when important updates about class progress, schedule changes, or your child’s participation are often shared. Working together helps us ensure your child’s success in their faith journey!

This is a friendly reminder that catechism classes begin tomorrow, including those for all Confirmation students.
Please plan to arrive early to help locate your child’s classroom or make any necessary corrections. Some class assignments have been updated, so we strongly encourage all families to review the class schedule in the morning to ensure students do not miss the Opening Prayer or the important Virtus online safety video.
Staff members wearing yellow vests will be available to help guide you to the correct classrooms. Building entrances and rooms have been clearly labeled with classroom numbers to assist you.
